What is From Soldier to Soldier?

From Soldier to Soldier began in 2008 in a camp in Afghanistan. The Danish soldier Stefan Hylleborg learned from an American colleague to braid bracelets from parachute cord — an old tradition among paratroopers, where the bracelet is a sign of friendship. Together they sold the bracelets and raised DKK 14.000 for the family of a Lithuanian sergeant who was killed when the camp came under fire.

Back home in Denmark, the jewellery company Aagaard put the bracelet into production. The cord is still braided parachute cord, and the clasp is shaped like the button on the soldiers' uniform. The field watch is made to go with the bracelets, so you can wear both.

What you support

On many of the bracelets, Aagaard gives DKK 50 for every bracelet sold to Danish veterans, returned soldiers and their families — it says so on the product page where it applies. The money goes to projects that help them back to everyday life after a deployment. The bracelet is not a political statement, but a way of showing that you think of those who went.
