Warranty
2-year right to complain on everything you buy from us — it is mandatory throughout the EU.
2-year statutory warranty
You have a 2-year statutory warranty (right to complain) under the Danish Sale of Goods Act (købeloven), counted from the day you receive the watch. It covers faults and defects that were there when you received it — including those that only show up later.
If a fault appears within the first year, we assume it was there from the start. You must complain within a reasonable time after discovering the fault; if you write within two months, it is always in time.
Warranty card from the brand
What we promise is the 2-year right to complain. We do not promise a warranty from the brand beyond that. If a warranty card comes in the box, it is an extra — your right to complain does not depend on it.
Keep your order confirmation. It is your proof of when and where the watch was bought.
What the statutory warranty covers
- Faults in the movement — a watch that stops or doesn't run as it should.
- Manufacturing defects in the case, dial, hands, crown, clasp and bracelet.
- Water resistance as stated, as long as the watch has not been opened by others.
What it does not cover
- Ordinary wear — scratches on the glass, case or strap from everyday use.
- Damage from knocks, drops or use beyond what the watch is built for.
- Water damage if the crown was not screwed all the way in.
- Faults caused by the watch being opened or repaired by others after purchase.
- Theft and loss. That falls under your home contents insurance.
How to make a complaint
- Write to kontakt@nordur.dk with your order number, and describe what the watch is doing. A photo helps.
- We send an insured shipping label, so it costs you nothing to send the watch.
- The watch is examined, and we write to tell you what is wrong before anything is touched.
- If it is a fault, the watch is repaired or replaced free of charge — or you get your money back. Allow 10–15 working days from when we have the watch.
Withdrawal and right of return
If you have changed your mind, that is different from a fault: you have a 14-day right of withdrawal and a 99-day right of return from the day you receive the watch. How to do it is on the returns page.
Service and water resistance
An automatic movement benefits from a service every five to seven years — even when it runs perfectly. The oil ages whether or not the watch is worn.
Gaskets are rubber, and rubber ages. If you use the watch in water, its water resistance should be pressure-tested every other year at a watch workshop. If in doubt, write to us.
