How to set the date and time
On most watches you pull the crown out to the first click to set the date (and day) and to the outermost click for the time. One thing matters on mechanical watches: don't set the date with the quick-set while the date change is under way — typically between 21 and 3 o'clock — because the date wheel is engaged then, and the teeth can be damaged. First turn the hands to the morning, then set the date, and finally set the time.
If the date changes at midday, the watch is 12 hours out: turn the hands half a revolution forward. On most of our movements the second hand stops when the crown is pulled all the way out, so you can set it to the second. The date has to be moved on after months with fewer than 31 days (except on watches with an annual calendar). See also setting and the watch's own manual in the box.
If you have a question about a particular watch, ask Nord, our assistant, at the bottom right — or write to us.
