Alpina, Citizen and Maserati — the brands in brief
Alpina was founded in 1883 in Geneva by Gottlieb Hauser as a community of watchmakers (Alpina Union Horlogère) and in 1938 formulated the four principles of a sports watch: antimagnetic, shock-resistant, water-resistant and in stainless steel. All Alpina's watches are Swiss Made — see Alpina.
Citizen was founded in Tokyo in 1918 (as Shokosha) and is today one of the world's largest watch houses with its own movements; known for Eco-Drive, charged by light, and for Super Titanium — see Citizen.
Maserati is an Italian car brand that licenses its name for watches; the watches are made by Morellato S.p.A. in Italy with Japanese calibres from Miyota and Seiko — see Maserati.
